Crane Operator Recertification

We certify operators through the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research), and NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators), both of which are organizations nationally accredited through ANSI and recognized by OSHA.

Re-certification is required every five years for both certs.  NCCER recertification consists of written and practical examinations in each crane type you were originally certified in.  In 2019, re-certification candidates are welcome in any of our regularly scheduled certification classes and you may choose to attend as much or as little of the prep class as you think you need.   Beginning in 2020 we will begin to offer classes specifically for NCCER recert candidates.  They will be composed of just one day of classroom prep, and one day for the written and practical testing (see below for current 2020 schedule).  Study materials will be sent to the candidates in advance along with homework assignments.

For NCCCO, recertification candidates can take just the written exams and skip the practical if they have 1000 hours of seat time in the previous five years.  Recert candidates are welcome in our regularly scheduled CCO classes at a reduced price that includes just the classroom prep and written exams.  Please click here for the current NCCCO class schedule.

We have the following NCCER recert classes scheduled in 2020:

January 28 - 29, 2020, Associated General Contractors of Vermont, Montpelier, VT

February 19 - 20, 2020, Associated Builders and Contractors of NH - VT, Concord, NH
